Please join us from 6.30 for refreshments, to talk about your memories of Sydenham and the library, and to hear about our local history research plans. The talk will be followed by a chat and memory sharing which will finish at 8.30pm.

Such a shame to see Sydenham Library marooned in a war zone…anti vandal barriers around the entrance and so run down…..grim park…grim toilet block… grim estate..Sydenham seems to resemble a third world country these days. How the Victorian builders of the library must be sobbing with shame. What has become of our country ?

    1. The new entrance to the park looks really good. I’m not sure what the anti vandal barriers you are talking about are, there were barriers up while the work was being carried out and the new paving went in in Lower Sydenham. The toilet block doesn’t look good though along with the entrance at that end of the park. But around the library it’s looking rather smart and nothing like a war zone.
